Create The Bedroom Of Their Dreams With Themed Children’s Furniture
It used to be that a child’s bedroom contained the basics…a bed, a dresser and, of course, a mess! But children’s furniture has come a long, long way. Now, you can create more than a bedroom for your little one…you can create a whole fantasy playland! Creating a themed bedroom is a fun way to make your child feel that their bedroom is a special place just for them, and to make bedtime a lot more appealing.
Children’s furniture comes in many different themes. About ten years ago, the now infamous race car beds began appearing, and parents eagerly snatched them up for their little racers. They were perhaps the first pieces of children’s furniture that were both functional and fun to play with. Now, you see them in bedrooms and even in movies all over the place.
With that kind of success, it is no wonder that other companies started creating even more themed children’s furniture. Now, you can find almost any type of bed that your child could dream up. There are children’s beds shaped like log cabins, space shuttles, pirate ships, princess coaches and castles…and that’s just scratching the surface. Some companies will even make custom beds and children’s furniture, so you can create any sort of theme you want, from jungle adventures to Harry Potter and Hogwart’s.
Whatever theme you choose, you want to carry it throughout the entire room with other children’s furniture that fits in and enhances the theme of the bed. You can be as imaginative as you like with this, or as simple. If your little girl dreams of a fairy room, a canopy bed with a fairy castle can be paired with a white vanity that you can add sparkles and stickers to. If your young fellow dreams of space, pair his rocketship bed with industrial looking pieces like shelving and dressers in metallic finishes…you can even add a control panel made out of a spray-painted box, a joystick and some shiny colored stickers.
Keep colors and textures on theme as well. The fairy room would look wonderful with pinks and purples, and light gauzy fabrics, while the spaceship room would fare better with greys, blues and shiny fabrics.
Children’s furniture has evolved to become as exciting as children’s imaginations. No matter what they dream up, you are sure to be able to find children’s furniture to match and create a themed room that they will love to sleep in.
