*Bedroom carpet is a mauve pink – help me choose a color to paint the walls and decide my curtains!*?
First off, the carpet cannot be changed. Secondly, right now the walls are stark white and I’m not feeling it. Third, when I say mauve pink let me remind you it is not baby girl pink, nor is it barbie hot pink. Fourth, my room is real small. (I’d give measurements but I’m not there right now. But trust me, it’s small.) It is also square-not rectangular or odd shaped. The ceiling is flat.
I also have three sets of curtains I can choose from. (The room only has one window.) I can put up solid mauve pink with cream white lace accent w/ matching valance; a sheer white lace curtain with floral design; or a sheer material with an all over rose design that looks like watercolors in various shades of pink.
As you can tell, I’m a feminine decorator. I am 19 years old. I like vintage things. I love roses! I love the whole vintage shabby chic look, french boudoir, victorian, or chic beach cottage look.
Feel free to add other suggestions!!!!! I love decorating!

so you have a small squer room with a mauve pink carpet in the middle. and one window..

for walls you can do it light blue (somthing like petrol blue) and the curtain light mauve pink with a dark mauve pink lace

you can use wallpaper with floral patterns.. (light and dark pink-dark yellow-) and then put a checkered -modern like- curtain…. you can use dark yellow -gold like- lace with the curtain.. and this can match the colors on the floral pattern on the wall paper

i think the 2nd option is better…

in all cases i dont think that pink carpet can match well with white walls

I’m drawn to say a pale yellow wall color, at least on two walls, leaving the other two walls white, with each color facing the other, along with the watercolor curtains. Then add some pale yellow, white, and that pink/rose accessories.

Paint the walls a slightly deeper shade of white or creamy beige. Just be sure to pick a shade that compliments your carpet. You’d be amazed what a difference choosing the correct “warm” or “cool” shade will make. Keep the wall color light. It will “open” your room and allow more decorating options. Go to Home Depot or similar store where they have a large selection of paint sample cards and bring a bunch home. See what colors look best in you room (NOT just in the store) and be sure it works with your carpet. Consider adding a wallpaper border and new bedding to pull the look together. What about reception?

I dont mean like the address and stuff.

I mean are you getting married in a ballroom, beach, ranch, church?

We are getting married at a ranch, with the ceremony outside (hopefully it doesnt rain). Its very lovely, its almost going to be very shabby chic.

We are getting married in church and having our reception at a nearby banquet hall.
Both locations are meaningful to us (we attend the church & the hall overlooks the river near our home), we don’t have to worry about weather because we will be indoors, and we can afford it.

As of now, we will get married in a church, reception in a ballroom-type place. I’d LOVE to get married in the church and have the reception in an air-conditioned professional tent outside… his family lives on a ranch and it’s a really pretty place. I think I’d have a heart attack worrying about weather, etc, though. You just can’t rely on it!

My fiance has decided that we will be getting married in the lake norfork area of Arkansas. We can not seem to find a location though. Plus I cant decide which way to do it. Part out me wants it outside at sunset on one of the cliffs over the lake. Then have a cocktails and sweets reception. Or maybe a morning ceremony with a brunch. Then rent a bunch of boats and spend the rest of the day on the lake. Not sure still deciding.

I am thinking about doing a beach theme for a playroom. It is for two small children. I would do a loft bed and make it the surf shack, with thatch roofing and distressed painting. Storage underneath in bins. Any cute ideas for wall coverings, window coverings, decor, etc. I do not want to go to overboard on the theme…I think I may get tired of it soon. I do have one tall bookcase that is shabby chic. Not sure how that will fit into the theme, but I must keep it (one drawer and 4 shelves). I would love some help and any ideas on how to make this cute, yet able to change later on if I want to. Any suggestions or websites to view would be apreciated. Thanks so much!!!!

maybe you should do really bright colors and alot of stuffed toys and a tv and a radio and yeah.

maybe you could some how make grass skirts into valances(sp) and then at Lowes they have these bamboo type shades that role up and down, just a thought.

USE DIFFERENT COLOR BEACH MATS AND SEW TOGETHER FOR A CARPET.TAKE AN OLD UNBRELLA AND CUT IN HALF AND PUT OVER YOUR WINDOWS.PUT FAKE PALM TREES ONTO EACH SIDE OF YOUR BOOKCASE.USE DIFFERENT COLORED PAILS FOR TOYS.PUT IN A SAND BOX AND FILL WITH COLORED PLASTIC BALLS FOR THEM TO PLAY IN.PUT IN A CHILD SIZE BEACH TABLE AND CHAIRS.HANG DIFFERENT SIZE BEACH BALLS FROM THE CEILING.AND THAT SHOULD BE GREAT.GOOD LUCK!
